I think its sad that there are so many good Disney movies that we forget about. Sure, the Disney Princesses get recognition, and there are a select few Disney blockbusters that get to emerge from the vault time and time again. But this is a tribute to the movies I didnt remember until yesterday – the ones that kids need to keep watching:

Studio space. I feel like it's prettier than this photo.

It seems lke such along time since I’ve a few minutes to sit down and post a blog. I’m keeping this one short, becasue I’ve got a project to do, but this is a great way to avoid my hw. I’m an archictecture major this year! So I have been very busy balancing all the work. I love our studio at Alumni Hall, but it’s nice to spend time in our room once in a while…I’ve already had my fair share of long nights and tight deadlines. OUr room in Minnich is apparently named “The Minnich Mansion” becasue we live in the large 1st floor quad. Its big, pretty, and my roomates are awesome We looked at apartments for next year together, and I’m still excited for the rest of the year.

ps. Right now, Quidditch is being played in the quad outside my window!! haha.

Airport Post

I’m sitting in the airport now, and I imagine that means my second european adventure is closed. I spent the entire day packing, taking extra care to make all my luggage as security friendly as possible. Despite that, I still had to have my bag searched and I still set off the metal detector. Hah. No matter how many times I fly, there are some things that just refuse to change. We were also waiting with abaited breath to see if my massive suitcase would be overweight – by some miracle it wasn’t! So I am 50 USD richer than before. Or at the very least, I still have it.
I watched Aberdeen fly by from the taxi this morning and was surprised how nice the whole place looked. I had a great time here and it lists very high in the places I visited to see my mom. I sincerely hope she stays there a long, long time. Hanlei was as emotional as ever (right). He’s the type that just likes to skip goodbyes, I think.
In my last couple days, I spent most of my time at home eating the good food I’m going to miss. On saturday, mom and I went to a party with more good food, and on sunday we went to her church and I said a few goodbyes. The party was in Cove Bay, a suburb of Aberdeen that has all sorts of seaside charm and bungalows. There is where I got my final look at the north sea, while climbing all over the rocky bank in completely inappropriate shoes. I’ve got a great picture of the bay, which I’ll have to post later. I dunno, it’s been quiet but nice. Quiet is lovely because once I get home, there’s going to be very little quiet until Christmas at least.

UPDATE: I missed my flight connection to cleveland by 5 minutes, so now I’m sitting in O’Hare waiting for the next flight. Like a smart girl, i didnt pack a phone charger or usb cord and the cell phone is D-E-A-D. In order to inform my family and dutiful boyfriend, I’m paying for internet - $6.95 for internet in chicago becasue they have never heard free wifi. Desparation makes me do these things, because I now hate airport payphones and a usb chord is $24.99. That makes me sick. I wish I was a meaner person sometimes, so I could vent my frustrations on airport people or yell at shop keepers. I dont like those people either. hah

I’ve fallen into the same blog-writing dry spell that hits me towards the end of my summers. Things haven’t been super lively, but things ARE happening in Aberdeen. I guess I’ve been lazy. Since my last post, I attended another picnic with my mom’s church members at Hazelhead Park. I had a very good time! Great chinese picnic food, jump roping, playgrounding, and wrestling with my mother. Days just don’t get any more memorable than that. I sent my final round of postcards on Saturday afternoon and visted the Aberdeen Art Gallery. The gallery had a fanastic show going on downstairs with some interesting scultural peices that used fiber optics, found objects, and metal crafts. There were also historical peices, furniture, clothing, fashion sketches, dishes, etcc and some great mixed media peices on canvas. There was a variety to look at and I enjoyed it very much.

This week I escorted my mom to the hospital and grocery shopped. She also wants to take me to a pub with her work friends tomorrow, but I will have to update on that later. Right now that ideas sounds about as appealing as eating glass. Hah. We may have company for dinner on Sunday and on saturaday we may take one last day trip to one of the villages. I guess I need to be extra attentive about writing this week, because I’ll be state-side by Tuesday! It’ll be sad, but good. I’ve had a great time in Scotland – the UK has always been a great host – but I am ready for the hot weather.
